We, members of the County Democratic Party Support:
I. Improved Meeting Times for County Legislative meetings
and workshops, inorder to allow for greater public attendance. This will
allow more of our Tioga County citizens to attend, who are now limited,
because of their personal employment hours.
II. Increased Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability by all
of our legislators in the interest of our entire County.
III. Ensure Fairness and Equity of employment by the County government
for all Tioga County positions, whether contractual or otherwise, with
the first considerations to be given to qualified County residents.
IV. A State Park System in Tioga County for public recreations
and camping.
V. Development and Implementation of a Long Range Strategic Plan
for our County that is clearly in the public interest.
VI. Assisting Small and Large Businesses throughout Tioga County,
while striving to expand the County tax base and to further promote agribusiness
opportunities.
VII. Consolidation of Services, wherever feasible.
VIII. Improve Communications and Interaction by promoting growth
of a communications network countywide to offer citizens the opportunity
to have a toll-free telephone system and high-speed Internet transmission.
IX. Striving to make our County government more cost effective
and efficient.
X. Promoting an Oversight Function which addresses non-government
organizations (NGOs), or others empowered to offer "PILOT" (Payment in
Lieu of Taxes) and other tax abatements, in order to avoid costly
"investment" mistakes or losses which may impact the taxpayers of Tioga
County.
